Liverpool City Council I Fire Door Replacement Scheme

Following contract award, Avrenim consulted with the school, Liverpool City Council & KIER Construction in the development of the Quality Management Program (QMP), defining processes, practices and procedures aimed at meeting or exceeding the projects goals.

The design and core objectives during discussions with Abbots Lea School were identified as the following: Maintain fire safety; Guarantee completion on time; Deliver Quality for all stakeholders.

For fire safety to be achieved by replacing dilapidated & non-compliant fire door sets to the school with new bespoke improved fire door-sets that would fit the existing opening and allow acceptable fire stopping margins to satisfy the most stringent of building regulation standards & fire safety inspections and also to reduce making good.
Safety also meant the design & installation would be meticulously developed to protect the health & safety of all involved this was to be achieved by ensuring the site measures were checked and checked again, the supply chain companies selected were competent, and could deliver the product at the time required during a busy period.

This was achieved by determining accurate time scales for measure, manufacture & delivery and by ensuring the installation of the product took into account accurate on-site conditions.

Deliver quality – to be achieved by engaging with supply chain partners and defining processes, practices, and procedures to provide a high-quality product, within Abbots Lea School’s budget.

Challenge

A Strict program during summer break at Abbot Lea’s School while training and holiday clubs commenced with limited staff & children

Solution

With careful consideration, liaison and planning with the school. Avrenim coordinated works in a manner which never breached the security arrangements of the school, and accommodated for when staff were holding meetings in areas we were working

Results

Avrenim successfully delivered the fire door replacement programme without one security concern being raised from the school. The relationship between Avrenim and the client grew to be a very positive one and is still ongoing to this day.
