Charity Walk from the Royal Hospital in Liverpool to Conwy

Charity walk_lads

Congratulations to the Avrenim FM staff who successfully walked in total 62 miles with a 3248 ft altitude from the Royal Liverpool Hospital to Conwy over 2 days. The walk raised nearly £4k for the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen NHS Trust, towards their Breast Cancer Unit and Mountains for Mia, which was a charity set up by a young lady who suffered from Locked In Syndrome following a stroke. Mia sadly lost her fight for life just a few weeks ago. Mia was nominated for Merseyside Woman of the year 2019 and was announced the winner just after she passed away. This was as a recognition for all of her charity work, campaigning and being a role model for thousands of people. Big thanks to all our friends, supporters and supply chain for their kind donations. Quotes from John Newberry, MD of Avrenim Facilities Management Ltd

“It’s great to see our staff using their Avrenim volunteering days to raise money for 2 important charities, RCharity and Mountains for Mia.  They walked for 2 days from the Royal Liverpool Hospital to Conway, a journey of just over 60 miles, raising £3,635.00.  I would like to say a massive thankyou for our staff’s endeavours and also to friends, subcontractors and the various members of the public who generously donated along the way.  Thank you to all.”

Quote from Vincent Hart, Mechanical Estates Manager

“This was a great team effort from the start despite the weather having a detrimental effect on most of the walkers!  There was great public support along the way, giving us donations, including one member of the public picking up our evening bar and meal bill at the Taladry Hotel in St Asaph.  We covered 62 miles over the 2 days and the walk was made easier due to all the help from our main sponsors and our employers, Avrenim Facilities Management who provided us with transport, hotel accommodation and paid leave to cover the walk.  A big thanks must also go to Gorse Hill Caravan Park for a fantastic reception at the end of the walk.”
