Bowmans Cold Stores I Solar PV Installation

Bowman’s old Stores previously used a lot of electricity on the daily, therefore the client wanted as much roof space as possible for solar PV installation, reducing the imported electricity.

The solar PV solution used 75% of the available roof space, consisting of 3002no 330Wp photovoltaic panels, providing an installed capacity of 990kWp. The solar arrays were coupled between 12no 75kW inverters and the system will provide the building with circa 850,000kWh of electricity.

We produced an extremely detailed sign, planning and installation methodology, which led to the provision of high quality solutions with world leading technology. Since our installations, there has been a huge reduction in reliance on grid electricity and imported electricity consumption.

Challenge

Systems of such a size require detailed design and installation practicality assessments. Installation coordination and planned scope of works is essential, to enable the smooth installation process and minimising any disruption to the business’s day to day working activities.
